Gallon Challenge: Using Dimensional Analysis (TpT): Ever wonder how much a gallon of mascara cost? Eye drops? Printer ink? In this activity students will use dimensional analysis to find the cost of a gallon of a variety of everyday items. There are 3 different versions so you get 24 different items in total so not all students are doing the same exact thing. This is a great activity to introduce students to dimensional analysis in science classes as well as math classes. It alleviates the symptoms of boringworksheetitus by adding a unique spin on things. You can have students work in groups or solo.
Lab Safety Video: This video was made by a teacher at a private school somewhere - it is not me! I like this one because it's entertaining (I know, I know, lab safety should be serious, not funny, but it gets boring ya know). So I show my students this video on lab safety day.
